Travellers arrive from all over the world to begin our tours and as such it is not possible to include international airfare in our prices.

Basically these are a private tour and we can match it with your arrival dates, and we can do to the basic tour any changes you want, but in case you wil join other people that are traveling with the same tour dates. The majority of our tours have a maximum of 12 participants although some may take as many as 16 or 22 passengers.

To travel independently you must be at least 18 years of age. There are no upper age limits on our tours however travelers aged 70 years or older are required to complete a medical questionnaire. Our Family packages are open to families with children aged between 0 and 17 years of age. Our standard (non-family) tours are open to children aged 12 years or older when accompanied by a parents or teachers.

Most of our trips do not have a single traveler supplement. This means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, toy should contact us first to check availability and the supplement.

Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels. Please contact us for price information. If we are unable to provide you with the extra nights we will give you the name of a hotel you can contact directly.

Starting and ending hotels are listed on your travel voucher. We use a variety of hotels en-route and so a complete list of hotels won't be provided until 1 – 3 weeks before your tour, depends on the booked date. It's extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early however you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early. If you feel this may be necessary please consult one of our travel consultants before you book your tour.

Most of our tours include 24 hours airport transfers and you should give us your arrival and departure flight details.

Trip specific information on transportation can be found on the price included list however in most cases we use private cars, public transportation, sitting trains, sleeping trains, domestic flights.

We strongly recommend bringing a backpack or duffel bag, as suitcases can be cumbersome and difficult to store in buses, under seats, etc.. Keep in mind that you will normally have to carry your own luggage on and off buses and trains and up and down hotel staircases. Suitcases with wheels may not work well on dirt or cobblestone roads.

We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. Each tour includes a suggested packing list.

Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. Although we can send you a guarantee letter. [Especially for Indians, South African]. To help you to get your visa, but this after booking the tour, not before. Most of the Europeans, Canadians, and Americans can get the visa on arrival.

It's important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region you will be visiting. We use a variety of hotels, the name of which will be provided after making your reservations. Just in case we can not provide the hotel of your choice, we will carefully select another nearby, with the same category/rating. Most hotels that we use are near the pyramid area, and each has it's own restaurant, some open 24 hours. Beside this, we can suggest other restaurants in that area.

Our Representative who will meet you in the airport will be holding a sign with our name, Egypt Ala Carte, with a blue background. This is the same logo that is used on our web site. On that same board will be your name as given to us on your reservation. In your tour leaflet will be the name and phone number of our representative who will meet you.

Bank transfer is the easiest way to guarantee that your money is delivered to us safely and quickly. Credit cards and on-line payment are not common in Egypt. For safety reasons, we prefer that you contact your bank and send us your deposit by bank transfer, keeping your bank account data private, and we receive the amount easily.

In order to keep our costs as low as possible, we do not offer travel insurance. It is possible to purchase travel insurance for the entire year from your home country at a rate less than what we would be able to offer for the short duration of your tour.

During your tour we can suggest places to shop that are of high quality and recommended by the government. Here there are no forceful sale techniques used. In the most famous market, "souk", Khan El-Khalili, you will be able to see the Egyptian handmade crafts, and try your hand at the bartering method of sales. However, if you prefer to purchase expensive things like papyrus, gold, silver, carpets, and perfumes, we strongly recommend that you purchase those items from reputable shops. It is very easy to buy fake items from "masters of the retail" trade.

Your local home cell phone will probably not work in Egypt. We will help solve this problem for you by providing our clients with a free Local Egyptian Mobile phone, to be used during your stay with us. We will also provide you with a number where family/work will be able to contact you in case of an emergency while in Egypt.

Being careful where you choose to eat, is highly recommended. Your hotel restaurant and those that your tour guide/Representative suggest, are the best options. Because of the dry/hot climate, consuming more water is necessary. Most visitors to Egypt prefer to purchase bottled water to use when they are away from the hotel. If you should become ill, we will be able to help by getting you local medicine we know is beneficial. In case of severe illness, we will bring a doctor, at your own expense.

Yes, it is possible to have a meal in an Egyptian tourist home. Just ask your guide and he will arrange this for you as an optional tour.

We suggest changing some of your currency to the Egyptian pound at the airport bank when you arrive. There are also banks in each city where this is possible, and ATM machines are abundant.

This will depend upon your tour itself. IF it is an escorted tour you will have one guide for the entire trip (this is done upon request for a private tour). If it's a guided tour, it is very likely that you will have a different guide in each city.
